Roan (Hippotragus equinus)

Lucky enough to get a close shot of this beautiful animal. Males are 1.4 m at the shoulder, weighing around 270 kg, while females are 1.3 m and 250 kg. They like lightly wooded savanna areas with open area of longish grass. Secretion from glands between the hooves of the feet, are used to mark their areas. This animal is listed as endangered.
