To me there is not many things that compare to the beauty of a Pleiospilos bolusii, well-grown and gloriously radiant in flower. The intro picture above also includes a Tanquana hillmari, a close relation. Some call them living rock, which is apt as they can blend in, with its natural environment, including the rocks, well, so well that you sometimes only see them in flower in nature. By well-grown I mean, the old leaves should be fully absorbed by late summer, then it flowers and the process begin again with new leaves being formed. Measured watering from then to late summer. When they flower they make for great pictures and I it is a plant that can be enjoyed with all senses. Beat this: Nature is just wonderful. |
