Time to update the life of a busy 13/4 month old. We are over the worst of the teeth, with that top tooth (number 6) breaking through and although 2 more are about to break through, the bottom ones do not seem to create much issue. We, therefore, had a great weekend with no sleep issues, which continued into the week. When I say no sleep issues, I should say, night sleep issues. Yesterday we had a, nearly, 8 hour stint before bedtime. It was very playful, but daddy was properly hammered by day's end. A funny thing happened yesterday, Boeta decided he is going to walk with his eyes closed! It turned out to be a funny period, he walked straight into the closed-door, twice, bouncing back onto his bum. Got up and just tried it again. By then, I think he realized he had to at least use some vision, so he walked closed eyes for a while, then opened them slightly to get the lay if the land, closed and walked again, and so on. I was slightly stunned by this new development of a 13 month old baby. After a while it got boring, so he went to something else, but still, it is amazing what they can suddenly do or try. I also bought him a new ball, beach ball, 1/3 bigger than the earth ball, which he loves just as much. It turns out that he now uses it for baby exercises, as well as carry, throw and all the rest he already did with the other ball. And can he go, getting fast now, even try to kick the ball, dribbling it, sort of, in front of him. Another note is the baby fat, on the legs, beginning to disappear in front of our eyes, another sign of a baby becoming a full-blown toddler, I think. Mom is also going to take leave for a few days, hectic for her over the last months, so we look forward to that and maybe we can get away and see some elephants if the weather holds. |
