We decided to try to combine the departure with our son's nap-time, in order to make the trip a little shorter, this also applied to the whole trip. Driving around looking for animals or birds for hours can lead to a whining unhappy baby, especially when you stop. Mom had various snacks and even a half bottle ready, for those moments when we are close to elephants or unique sightings. All of it had to be employed at stages throughout the trip. Back to the trip, our first stop was a lookout, where I could have added a mother's love and pride to the title above. Great to watch the two interact as she showed him the great expanse that is nature. After they finished watching this great big green area, feast for young and old eyes, they turned and walked back to me, I kept on snapping away. A little side note: "We do brush his hair, twice a day at least, does not seem to hold long!" This next part is loaded with pictures, but the only way to try to convey the story. After a drive, we let the little one free in the camp to do a little running. He set off running with much enthusiasm, but then started looking at the bush and got lost in direction. Friendly hand of mom, always there to get the little one back on track.Off we go again. The joys and excitement were so obvious, it made the trip worth every cent. This went on for a while and he enjoyed every moment. Every now and then going straight on a bend, or charging toward something he sees. He eventually found a spot "in" spekboom (P. afra) to sit and play. It also gave him the perfect opportunity to do his other favorite thing, test it! It was nearing bath time and mom decided that the boys need to come in now. Two unwilling men followed, one is love with his family.I cannot put it in stronger words than this. If you can, get outside with your family, not to town, malls or other concrete villages, nature. Spend time with them there, you will see a sparkle in their eyes and yours, something you thought lost in all that is our daily life.
